Why Kingsley Moghalu should be Nigeria’s next President in 2019 – Diasporan Group

We wholeheartedly endorse Professor Kingsley Moghalu for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Moghalu understands and knows what will be required to address the complex issues in the 21st century including addressing the challenges facing Nigerians in the Diaspora.

This group comes from different Nigerian backgrounds of ethnicity, language and training. What we have in common is a yearning for Nigeria to fulfill her vast potential and take her place among the advanced democracies and economies, a prospect which has been denied her for nearly 60 years by poor leadership. In 2019, that can change. And that will change if Nigerians take advantage
of the 2019 election.

Properly examined, the 2019 election is less of an election and more of an opportunity. An opportunity for Nigerians, as a people, to choose to get it right. Nigeria’s dismal story will change if we accept the obvious: that failure does not convert to success the more we repeat the errors leading to it. In 2019, Nigeria can get it right by choosing NOT to make the same errors.

Nigerians must choose to vote with their eyes and minds wide open. An open mind is an intelligent mind. An intelligent mind
turns away from the errors that have yielded disappointment, failure and misery. This is why 2019 is an opportunity, one in which Nigerians, turning away from disappointment, seek a leader with the training, experience, patriotism and commitment to take their nation forward.

A leader who understands the world as it is, not as it is imagined to be. A leader who is not afraid to seek the most qualified and most prepared Nigerians to be deployed in the service of Nigeria. In Kingsley Moghalu, we are proud to identify such a man. Professor
Moghalu is a well-educated patriot, thinker, lawyer, economist and writer whose deepest desire is to bring Nigeria into line with
modern development thinking and growth.

At home in Nigeria, North, South, East, West, and abroad, Moghalu demonstrates his understanding of the challenge of advancing Nigeria through fearless economic thinking, robust political re-engineering, and strong administrative structures. Moghalu is different from most candidates because he has not emerged simply to run for office: his thorough
and clear thinking about Nigeria and his practical solutions are available in his books, writings, and interviews over the years. Moghalu
is clearly the most potent force for the advancement of Nigeria today, and an opportunity not to be missed. We wholeheartedly
endorse his candidature for the presidency of Nigeria in the 2019 election.

Signed:
Dr. Julius Kpaduwa, Charles E Orbih, Demola Okunsanya, Lami Dogonyaro, Dr. Alice Etim,

killing Of Maid Convicted Of Murder Spurs Protest

Indonesia has protested to Saudi Arabia over the execution of an Indonesian maid, convicted of murdering her employer who a workers’ rights group said was trying to rape her at the time.

President Joko Widodo said he called Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir, to lodge a protest and demand to know why Indonesia had not been informed about the execution of the woman, Tuti Tursilawati.

“We have called Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister and conveyed our protest, Widodo was quoted as saying by the office of his cabinet secretary.

Tursilawati, who was working in the city of Ta’if, was found guilty of killing her employer in June 2011.

Indonesian advocacy group Migrant Care said in September that the mother of one had been defending herself from being raped.

The office of the cabinet secretary cited the Migrant Care assertion.

The Saudi ambassador to Indonesia had been summoned to discuss the matter, the president said.

The Saudi embassy in Jakarta did not answer calls seeking comment.

“The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has ignored principles of human rights, including a right for everyone to live, said Abidin Fikri, a member of Indonesia’s parliament.

Indonesia, which is the world’s biggest Muslim-majority country and generally enjoys good ties with Saudi Arabia, also has the death penalty for certain crimes.

Indonesia has asked Saudi Arabia several times to improve protection of its workers there, including this month when Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi met al-Jubeir in Jakarta.

Buhari has done much to secure lives of Nigerians, says APC Chieftain

5 economic problems in the HSBC report that the Nigerian government is yet to address

He said that religious leaders in the country owe the society the duty to mentor their followers on the need to obey constituted authorities no matter the level of provocation.

Mr Anthony Nwafor, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Nkanu East/West constituency candidate for House of Representatives, says President Muhammadu Buhari has done so much to ensure security of lives and property in the country.

Nwafor, who made this known when he reacted to pockets of protests by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, said in a statement on Wednesday that Buhari should be encouraged to maintain the good works of maintaining peace in the country.

According to him, the only way Nigerian will encourage Mr President is by being law abiding.

He said that religious leaders in the country owe the society the duty to mentor their followers on the need to obey constituted authorities no matter the level of provocation.

“This is the only way the values they teach them can be said to reflect in their daily lives.

“Getting too obsessed with religious loyalty breeds extremism which is what the world is gripped with today, Nwafor said.

He advised the Federal Government to review the continued detention of the leader of the group, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, after several court orders.

He also urged the members of the group not to take laws into their hands because their leader was in detention.

Nwafor further urged the sect to stop confronting the Nigerian Army under any guise so that more lives would not be lost.

“The number of lives lost on daily basis to the confrontation between the group and the Nigeria Army is not necessary as the development can be avoided.

“Women, children and youths are made to march on the streets of Abuja to protest, thereby exposing them to the dangers associated with this confrontation with the military.

“Every life is important. Nigerians should learn to present their grievances without creating further problems.

Shehu Sani backs labour over N30,000 minimum wage

A Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has declared support for labour unions in Nigeria over the N30,000 new minimum wage demand.

Sani, while urging state governors willing to pay N22,000 as new wage to add N8,000 to meet the demands of the workers said Nigeria’s economy can sustain the N30,000 minimum wage.

“NLC’s nationwide mass protest is commendable. Those who can pay 22k as minimum wage should just add 8k to make it 30k” Sani said on Twitter on Wednesday.

“Nigeria’s economy can sustain it. The struggle must continue,” he added.

This is coming after The Chairman of Governors Forum, Abdul’aziz Yari after a briefing from the forum’s representatives at the Tripartite Committee on Tuesday night said the governors agreed to pay a national minimum wage of N22,500.

Following the governors declaration, the union insisted it would take nothing less than N30,000 as new minimum wage and threatened to vote out any government that refuses to meet its demand.

It gave the ultimatum in a nationwide protest it held to reaffirm its position and warn Nigerians to stock up on food as the countdown to its planned November 6, 2018 strike nears zero.

The lawmaker, however, said he will add a “strong voice of solidarity” to the workers demand at the National Assembly.

The National Assembly is currently on recess with plenary scheduled to resume November 6th, 2018.

[VIDEO] Bribery Scandal: Resign Now, Nigerians Tell Ganduje As 3rd Video Goes Viral

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has come under renewed pressure to resign his position and face prosecution after a new video went viral showing him receiving bribe from an unidentified contractor.

The short video, which is the third since the bribery allegation against the governor first broke out, lasts about nearly three minutes, showing the Governor conversing with an unknown contractor in Hausa language, also showed him receiving a bribe.

Below is clip of

Jaafar Jaafar, the publisher of Daily Nigerian, the publication that first broke the news, has repeatedly stated that the videos are not doctored as some have claimed and that he has 15 of the said videos showing the governor compromising his position.

In his appearance before the Kano State House of Assembly Panel set up to investigate the matter, Jafar insisted that according to his sources, Ganduje has been collecting between 15 and 25 percent on every contract awarded by his administration, and that should any dispute arise about the videos, he was ready to swear by the Quran that the videos are authentic.

After the latest video went viral on late on Tuesday, Nigerians have taken to social media, expressing their opinion on what should be done to address the matter.

Popular social media influencer, Japheth Omojuwa, through his Twitter handle, has called on the Kano State House of Assembly to ensure a speedy conclusion to its investigation, adding that the scandal is a further dent on President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign.

Many of those who commented on the issue believe Ganduje should take the path of honour and resign without waiting for the State House of Assembly to impeach him.

Some others also called the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately invite the governor for questioning:

Based on Nigeria’s Constitution, some have however pointed out that as a sitting governor, Ganduje enjoys immunity from prosecution until his tenure ends:

Halloween: Why Christians need to avoid celebrating this Satanic holiday

Why are Christians celebrating Halloween?

Halloween is a sacred holiday for Wiccans (the official religion of witchcraft). Need I say more?

It is Halloween today, Tuesday, October 31st. On this day, many people around the world play dress up in scary costumes and fancy getups.

Everyone, including Christians, participates in what seems like a ‘harmless fun’ thing to do. What they do not realise that this day is actually quite dark and scary.

Witches, occultists, Satanists and anyone that is anti-God believe that the veil between the living and the dead is the thinnest on this day, so it is seen as an opportunity to contact the dead. Hence, the name “Feast of the Dead, another term for Halloween.

This explains why former Satanist, John Ramirez says he is surprised that Christians partake in this ‘holiday.’

Speaking with CBN News, he shared some secrets about this dark day, along with a stern warning to believers to avoid this day.

In his words, “I was a general to the kingdom of darkness in witchcraft. I would sit with the Devil and talk to him like I’m talking to you today. It was that kind of communication. It was that kind of relationship.

“Sometimes people say ‘I celebrated Halloween 10 years ago, I did this 15 years ago, I did this 20 years ago.’ But the doors still open. You just cursed your family from three to four generations.

“You have to be aware it’s a curse. You have to go back to the place where you started, that year that you started that Halloween thing, the celebration when you started having that encounter with the dark side. You have to go back to that same spot and renounce and renounce it in the name of Jesus Christ and ask God to forgive you for that so that God can have mercy and close that door so your whole family can move forward.

John Ramirez is now an internationally known evangelist, author and speaker.

An ex-witch has also shared her scary Halloween story on Theothersideofdarkness.com.

Here is an excerpt:

“My parents told me before we went around the neighbourhood we were going to go to the church (Mormon Church) to get some candy there. The church was very close to my grandmother’s house, and I knew so from going often.

“We went to the church and what happened next made my blood curdle. I was given candy, but that was just a prelude to the sexual abuse that would happen in a satanic ritual."

“On Halloween Satanists use young children, such as myself, as sexual idols to worship. Other children receive a far worse fate. Death. I know for some this is more than you can even think to believe, but it is true. I can barely write these words because the pain of the truth is almost more than I can bear. If it wasn’t for the grace and love of Jesus Christ, I would not even be here writing this at all.

It was titled: ‘I Was Abused In A Satanic Halloween Ritual.’ If this is not enough proof of the evil nature of this day, I don't what it is.

Satanic roots of Halloween

Halloween is regarded as one of the two most important “holidays of the year. On page 96 of the Satanic Bible, Anton LaVey wrote, “After one’s own birthday, the two major Satanic holidays are Walpurgisnacht (May 1st) and Halloween.

He has also been quoted saying, “I am glad that Christian parents let their children worship the devil at least one night out of the year. Welcome to Halloween.

We might choose to ignore the truth about this festival of death and focus on the ‘cool’ dress up part. But it does not change the fact that this day definitely holds some dark reality.

This is exactly why no Christian should be celebrating a day that glorifies everything is against the God that we serve (See Deuteronomy 18:9–13).

Africa’s Leading Molecular Diagnostics Company, Stack Diagnostics introduces Diagnose Me

Nigeria’s first molecular diagnostics and personalized medicine company Stack Diagnostics introduced its subsidiary, DiagnoseMe Africa at a stakeholders meeting on Tuesday 22nd October 2018 at Four Points by Sheraton, Oniru, Lagos.

DiagnoseMe Africa is an online platform set to contribute to the Nigerian health sector by providing access to over 300 life-saving tests not easily accessible in Nigeria. The use of technology in advancing the health sector has been widely accepted across the globe but has not been fully embraced in Nigeria as the sector itself is not fully stabilized. However, with an increase in the number of diseases requiring molecular and genetics testing and no proper facilities to carry out these tests, DiagnoseMe is taking a step in the right direction.

Speaking at the meeting, CEO Dr Abasi Ene-Obong said ‘There are a lot of life-threatening diseases that can be prevented, managed and cured but in Nigeria, we don’t have the tools required for early detection. About 100 thousand women in Nigeria have breast cancer yearly and of those, around 80 thousand die. Prostate cancer which kills a lot of men in Nigeria has stopped being a killer in many other countries.

Due to the current state of the health sector in Nigeria, consumers are forced to travel out of the country to better diagnose their ailments and get adequate treatment; this is only for those who can afford it and it still comes at a great cost to those who can. DiagnoseMe is set on breaking the dependence on medical tourism by creating ease of access to these tests.

DiagnoseMe presents a platform for anyone to carry out the most innovative medical diagnostic tests using the latest genetic technology. Asides cancers, people can also test for food allergies, carry out non-invasive prenatal tests and paternity tests.

Dr Ani, a medical adviser at Stack Diagnostics, urged Nigerians to embrace this platform. She emphasized that it is a patient digitalized problem solving tool that could function across all states in Nigeria.

“DiagnoseMe is making things easier for everyone as consumers have access to doctors, doctors and consumers have access to tests and doctors have access to other doctors. It’s a web of shared knowledge to proffer the best solution.
