We all love Navigation System in the a car. But unfortunately Car Navigation System has limits. Some don’t work in a particular geographical zone. Now Imagine an Operating system on your car screen that uses your phone and has more functionality, from navigation to Music many more.
Time Magazine says it trounces the old-school Car Navigation system. The Android Autos OS controls your phones application through the screen on the dashboard.
Navigation
One can say that Google Maps is the best navigation tool around. Yet its never integrated into cars like Garmin and others. Android auto provides a platform for this. It uses your smartphone to do this via the dash screen. The cool thing about it? it uses the car GPS which can be more accurate than phone’s GPS.
Music
Google Play Music, Music App on your phone just play seamlessly in your car. Also works with voice command. Third-party apps like Spotify also works. Though some apps like Rdio and Beats are not compatible for now.
Phone Calls and SMS
Via the the touchscreen and the voice command phone calls and SMS is made easy. Imagine how many road accident can be averted with this feature. Texting and phone calls while driving happens all the time especially in young people, Google Android Autos provides an easy way to do both safely.
With been said, Google is making your car a personal assistant using your android phone. The first car to have this feature is the newly produced Hyundai Sonata 2015. Other subscribed cars to be expected are Honda, GMC and many more. Apple the biggest Google counterpart has Apple CarPlay with similar features.
