A crossover that will see Olivia Pope and Annalise Keating share the screen for the first time is in the works.
A crossover between Shonda Rhimes' “Scandal” and “How to Get Away With Murder” is in the works at ABC.
The exciting news was announced by Kerry Washington and Viola Davis via their Instagram posts, sharing photos from the sets of the shows.
The crossover will see their respective characters Olivia Pope and Annalise Keating share the screen for the first time.
Washington shared a photo of herself on set of "How To Get Away with Murder," with the caption: "This spot look familiar?!"
Davis shared a photo of herself on the White House set of "Scandal" with the caption: "Hey @KerryWashington, guess where I am?!

Shonda Rhimes also shared a page from the script.
The “Scandal” crossover episode was written by Raamla Mohamed and directed by Tony Goldwyn.
The “How to Get Away with Murder” crossover episode was written by Morenike Balogun and Sarah L. Thompson, and directed by Zetna Fuentes.
In 2017, it was announced that show creator, Shonda Rhimes, has signed a new deal with Netflix, ending Rhimes' 12-year partnership with ABC Network.
Despite Rhimes move to Netflix, her shows "Grey's Anatomy," ''Scandal" and "How to Get Away With Murder" would continue to air on ABC.
An air date for the anticipated crossover has not yet been announced.
“Scandal” is currently in its seventh and final season, while “How to Get Away with Murder” is in its fourth.
All Shonda Rhimes' shows will return with new episodes on January 18.
