Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was a surprise guest at the church auditorium of the Latter Rain Assembly headed by President Muhammadu Buhari's potential opponent in the 2019 presidential election, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
The popular televangelist had revealed to his congregation on January 1, that God wants him to run for president despite his plan to quit politics for good.
Despite his strong political association with President Buhari, Governor El-Rufai visited Bakare's auditorium in the Ogba area of Lagos and shared a public hug with the religious leader when he arrived.
The pastor told the Kaduna governor, "I have missed you. It is a good time to come."
Bakare's relationship with Buhari
Pastor Bakare was notably picked as the running mate of President Buhari when he contested on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) during the 2011 presidential election which he lost to former president, Goodluck Jonathan.
