Buhari, Atiku, others to square up in Presidential debate next month

The Nigerian Election Debate Group (NEDG) has announced Dec. 14, as date for presidential debate for candidates of the different political parties participating in the February 16, presidential election to unveil their plan for the country.

Disclosing this on Thursday in Abuja at a press conference, Group chairman, John Momoh who doubles as the chairman of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON), said the debate for the Vice presidential candidates would follow on Jan. 19, 2019.

Momoh also noted that the debates would hold at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja and would be broadcast live by all BON member stations.

President Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) along with his running mate, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo are expected to slug it out with the top contenders in the election; Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and his running mate, Peter Obi as well as other candidates of the major opposition parties.
