Mr Isah Tijjani, the former Deputy National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, ‎has advised Kano residents against jumping to a conclusion over a video clip showing Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje allegedly collecting bribes from contractors ‎as the matter is under investigation.‎
Tijani gave the advice on Monday in Kano while briefing newsmen on the allegations against the governor.‎
He appealed to ‎the public to wait for the report of the investigative committee set up by the state Assembly to ascertain the authenticity of the video clips on the allegations.‎
‎
According to him, “Whoever says this is what happened without any proof, is not being just to himself,  to the governor, to the state and to the public at large.
“I urge the public particularly the good people of Kano state not to jump to conclusion over the allegation and to be patient and wait for the outcome of the investigation from the appropriate body.‎
“Those clips were not authenticated by any relevant body, which still places them as a mere allegation and not verified and the governor
is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
“I am not happy about it and is not something to be happy about. That is why it needs following of procedures in dealing with such delicate issues to even understand it clearly.
“Because this is a video clip showing someone purported to be the governor allegedly collecting bundles of cash from a contractor, Tijani said.‎
An online newspaper, Daily Nigerian had recently released video clips, showing Gov. Ganduje allegedly collecting bribes from contractors.‎
This prompted the Kano State House of Assembly to constitute a seven-man committee to investigate the authenticity of the video recording of alleged bribe taking by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
