Asaba – Barely four months after robbers raided the house of the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Nwaoboshi, another group of burglars have raided the House of another lawmaker.
The said incident allegedly occurred at the legislative quarters along Okpanam road, Asaba.
The burglars were said to have operated without interruption, emptied the residence of the member representing Aniocha South in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Angela Nwaka.
In the process, undisclosed amount of money, expensive jewelries, and other treasured properties like international passport and a strong safe was carted away.
Luckily, the Delta State Police Command has arrested two persons suspected to have burgled the official residence of Nwaka.
The suspects, Sule Ahmed and Tagboe Peter Celestine, were reported to have been apprehended by police detectives who were dispatched by the Police High Command to bring the culprits to book.
It was disclosed that on 18th October, 2017, one Tagboe Peter Celestine, a Beninose, and cook to Nwaka, broke into her safe and carted away a huge sum of money, including jewelries and other valuables.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka confirmed the development, saying that Ahmed also shared from the proceeds.
“He provided useful information that led to the arrest of the prime suspect at Abuja. The suspects have confessed to the act”; Aniamaka said.
Before now, robbers had burgled the Asaba residence of the Senator Nwaoboshi, carting away jewelries, laptops and undisclosed amount of dollars.
