This week saw a lot of active judgments which will change the impression of registered heroes forever. From the decisive move of politicians to the sentencing of a “glorified� family dad to the stance of Jesus on women, here is a rundown of what went down this week:

The aftermath of the Osun saturday election has elicited a lot of reactions and realisations. Ahead of Thursday’s rerun, fresh alliances were made to make sure victory. Senate President Saraki’s move to sway Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate Prince Oyiola Omisore to People Democratic Party (PDP) set tongues wagging. However, Omisore had made his choice known when he announced he will be joining forces with the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC). SDP, on the other hand, has opposed that alliance.

Chimamanda on Jesus and women

Chimamanda Adichie, has said that Jesus Christ’s treatment of women is an important symbol for gender equality. According to her, the Jewish people at the time were patriarchal but Jesus Christ’s treatment of women, was something new to the Jews. She said this proves everyone is equal in the sight of God. “The Jewish people at that time did not give any regard to women, like many cultures all over the world. Jesus came, and suddenly Jesus is treating women as though they’re his equals�.

Jail time for Cosby

Bill Cosby who was found guilty in April of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004 has been sentenced to three to ten years in prison. Constand is a former women’s basketball coach at Temple University in Philadelphia, where Cosby was a trustee, major donor and famous alumnus. He was seen being led out of court in handcuffs. “The day has come. Your time has come,� a Philadelphia judge Steven O’Neill told the 81-year-old before sentencing him on three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault.

Goodbye Instagram!

Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, co-founders of smartphone photo-sharing service platform Instagram have resigned amid frustrations. The duo resigned from their positions as chief executive and chief technology officer respectively saying they planned to take time off. Although they did not state the reason for leaving, they wrote in a statement that they would like to “explore our curiosity and creativity again…understand what inspires us and match that with what the world needs�. It would be recalled Instagram was bought by Facebook in 2012 for a billion dollars.

Shaming Wizkid in the #LooseTalkPodcast

Music critic, Osagie Alonge popularly known as Osagz is receiving backlash for levelling accusations at Wizkid in an episode of Loose Talk Podcast. The allegations levelled against the artiste include selfishness, stealing songs, missing concerts despite receiving full payment, drugs, failing in his relationships and falsifying his age. He also accused TuFace of setting the pace for loose sexual pervasion and Teni for not having the looks of a singer. Osagz has since deleted the podcast and issued an apology after reportedly receiving death threats.
