APGA Guber Candidate Accuses APC Of Discrimination In Niger

APGA

Minna – The Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Joshua Bawa, has told non-natives not to allow themselves to be intimidated by anyone or group of persons over indigene and non-indigene issues but to see themselves as citizens who have an equal stake in the affairs of Niger State.

Bawa said the socio-economic growth and development of Niger State over the years couldn’t have been achieved without the non-natives whose investments in various sectors of the state economy spread across the state, creating jobs, pay their taxes and other sundry issues.

Apparently reacting to the cries against discriminatory policies of the Governor Abubarkar Sani Bello led administration against people from other states especially in education, commerce and related benefits enjoyed by others, Bawa told non-natives to work for an end to all forms of injustices against them by voting out the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.

Bawa made the declaration at the one day, ‘Peace and Unity Colloquium-Minna-2018’ which took place at Vagosh Hotel, Minna over the weekend, saying Niger State belongs to every law-abiding Nigerian irrespective of tribe, political party, state of origin or religious inclinations.

Describing Niger State is a miniature Nigeria whereby everybody is expected to accommodate one another for peace, collective growth and development, Bawa promised that: “We are going to abolish indigene non-indigenes dichotomy if voted into office in 2019.

Bawa said he is aware of problems non-natives face on daily basis said, “As far as people from the South-East, South-West, South-South or other states are concerned, living anywhere in Niger State and doing their legitimate businesses, we will continue to protect them.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Hassan Liman called on relevant stakeholders, politicians, in particular, to caution their supporters/followers against hate speech.
