THE re-election bid of Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar got a boost with the decampment of a former governorship aspirant of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr Sama’ila Dahuwa alongside a large number of his supporters to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Samaila Dahuwa announced who was flanked by his supporters announced his defection from the NNPP Tuesday during a Press Conference held at the NUJ Secretariat in Bauchi.

The defeated NNPP governorship aspirant who noted that he left the party due to injustice and lack of focus within the party, said his decision to join the APC alongside his supporters was in view of the structure and manifestos of the party.
According to him, his earlier criticisms of the APC led administration of Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar was for the administration to do the needful for the people of the state and therefore promised to contribute towards the victory of the APC candidates in all elections come 2019.
He, however, asked the party to recognise and carry along his supporters who defected with him so that they would have a sense of belonging like other party members.
