In Osun: Police rescue 2 stolen children, arrest suspected certificate forgers

80% of police personnel are guarding prominent people

Parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Osogbo, the Police Commissioner, Mr Olafimihan Adeoye, said the rescue  of the two children was made possible through the reportage  of the arrest of members of the syndicate.

The Osun Police Command on Wednesday announced the rescue  of two  stolen children from a syndicate.

Parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Osogbo, the Police Commissioner, Mr Olafimihan Adeoye, said the rescue  of the two children was made possible through the reportage  of the arrest of members of the syndicate.

Two weeks ago , the media widely reported the arrest of two persons, a reverend father and a woman, who kidnapped  and later sold an 18-month-old baby boy they stole in Osogbo.

“This report prompted a couple from Ganmon  in Kwaran whose three and five- year-old daughters were stolen in Ilorin  to check with the command to see if those arrested were the same people who stole their daughters.

“When the couple saw the suspects in our custody, it was discovered that it was the same gang that stole their daughters and further investigation launched by the command led to the recovery of their children.

“In another development, however, four men were also arrested in Ibadan by men of the Osun Police Command  for forging various certificates, especially academic certificates.

“The men were arrested after a graduate of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, asked someone to help her collect her certificate from her school.

“Instead of the person sent to collect the certificate from the school, he went to patronise the forgers who issued a forged certificate to her.

“When the certificate owner,  however,  took the certificate to her school to be verified, the school denied issuing it and this led to her reporting the matter to the police and the subsequent arrest of the forgers, ” he said

The commissioner also said of interest was  the case of a 400-level students of Osun State University, Olaniyan Olayemi Joshua, who was reported missing on  social media after passing the night at the Ojodu police station in Lagos.

Adeoye said the student,  who is hail and hearty and in the custody of the command, was never  missing in the first place.

He said the student, on his own,  decided  to go into hiding  and remain   incommunicado.

Adeoye warned against using the social media to level  false accusations, saying  he was happy the police had been exonerated.

Strategy: Adidas is banking on the hottest trend in sportswear to defy the American curse that's haunting Nike and Under Armour

null

Adidas has conquered sneakers, and now it's headed for training apparel.

  • During an earnings call on Wednesday, Adidas said that its North American revenues were up by 35% in 2017.
  • This growth has largely been based on its running and Originals shoe brands, which have a variety of popular models.
  • Adidas will now take that momentum and apply it to its training apparel lines.

There's no stopping Adidas. The German sportswear brand said in an earnings call Wednesday that its revenues were up 35% in North America in 2017.

Adidas US head Mark King told Business Insider that Adidas now has momentum after seeing success in the running category and others, citing breakout hits like the UltraBoost.

King said the success was due to "investment in the right things" as Adidas has focused on its most important categories — vintage-inspired Originals, training apparel, running, basketball, and what the brand calls its "core" products — and becomes more ingrained in US sports.

Running is still Adidas' biggest category, but King said it's seeing "real momentum" in training apparel, which he called Adidas' "biggest opportunity." Training is now the brand's number-two category.

Sportswear all starts with the sneakers, and it grows into apparel as the brand raises its profile and cachet in the US.

Most of Adidas' growth has started from the fashion side, and now King expects that will translate into sales for things like equipment and football cleats. This mirrors how customers now buy their clothing and sports equipment, starting with casual wear and fashion, and then going more technical as customers strive to live healthier lives.

"Adidas is positioned better than anyone in this," King said.

In the meantime, Adidas' two biggest competitors in the US — Nike and Under Armourhave stumbled in the North American market in recent quarters.

King warned that 2018 might be see similarly rapid growth numbers, and that there could be a "normalizing" in the growth numbers Adidas posts next year. But this is all in the name of getting to a sustainable level of growth as Adidas pushes the envelope on market share.

King estimates the brand now has about 10% market share in the US, up from 3.5% just a few years ago.

"We believe we should be at 15% market share," King said.

Finance: Pharmacy startup Blink Health just filed a $250 million lawsuit against a company it claims is an 'unlawful copycat scheme'

Blink Health, a pharmacy startup that provides discounts to prescription drugs, is suing a competitor it claims is an "unlawful copycat scheme."

  • Blink Health, a pharmacy startup that provides discounts to prescription drugs and has raised $165 million in funding, is suing a competitor it claims is an "unlawful copycat scheme."
  • The lawsuit alleges Hippo, a new startup founded by former Blink Health executives, got ahold of Blink Health's trade secrets and unfairly uses them to compete with Blink Health.
  • Blink Health is seeking $50 million in damages already caused, along with $200 million in punitive damages for a total of $250 million.

Blink Health is suing a pharmacy startup it claims is an "unlawful copycat scheme."

Blink Health, a startup that helps negotiate lower drug prices, was founded by 35-year-old Geoffrey Chaiken and 32-year-old Matthew Chaiken. The company is now suing Hippo, a company founded by former Blink Health executives that operates under a similar format to deliver prescription drug discounts.

In its complaint, Blink Health claims violations of the Defend Trade Secrets Act, alleging that Hippo got ahold of Blink Health's trade secrets and has and continues to use "stolen property for its own benefit and in unfair competition with Blink at thousands of 'pharmacies nationwide.'"

The company is seeking $50 million in damages, along with $200 million in punitive damages, for a total of $250 million.

"No company should be allowed to cheat and steal its way into existence, as Hippo is trying to do," Blink Health’s attorney Orin Synder said in a statement sent to Business Insider.

8VC, which led Blink's Series A and B rounds, said in a statement, "We are fully supportive of Blink Health and its actions."

Hippo was not immediately available to comment.

Here's how Blink Health's prescription discounting

When it comes to lowering prescription costs, there are a number of different approaches startups are taking, from comparing the price at one pharmacy to another nearby so consumers shopping around for a lower price can get a sense of where they might go. Others have delivery components as well as discounts.

Blink Health operates a little differently. Instead of having people go from one pharmacy to another, Blink Health negotiates to get the same price at different pharmacies for generic medications and some branded diabetes medications. Blink Health works at Rite Aid, Walmart, Kroger and K-Mart, but it doesn't currently work at Walgreens or CVS Health.

Say you need to pick up a prescription for your medication, but you have a high deductible plan that requires you to pay $3,000 out of your own pocket before your insurance starts picking up the rest of the tab. Instead of going to the pharmacy and accepting whatever price they offer (which can vary from pharmacy to pharmacy), you could download the Blink Health app, or go to the company's website.

In the app, you can find your prescription and purchase it directly through the app. Then, when you get to the pharmacy counter, you show your phone to the pharmacist who rings it up instead. In return, Blink gets a cut of the transaction.

Where Hippo and Blink Health have similarities

The system of having the same price at any pharmacy and presenting a virtual card is the same model Hippo is using, according to its website.

For example, here's how Blink Health describes the process:

And here's how Hippo's site describes it:

Hippo was started by two former Blink Health executives: former chief financial officer Eugene Kakaulin and former general counsel Charles Jacoby. In 2016, Kakaulin sued Blink Health claiming breach of contract and violations of federal whistleblower law when Kakaulin came to the founders with information about securities violations. The case was later settled.

Blink Health’s complaint alleges that Hippo got confidential marketing plans, such as strategies and slogans, information about how Blink Health set up relationships and contracts with pharmacy benefit managers, as well as some of the back-end coding that helps fill the prescription when someone using the app/website uses their card, and that these are trade secrets belonging to Blink Health.

Amended Electoral Act: Court restrains National Assembly from taking any action

Court restrains National Assembly from taking any action on Amended Electoral Act

Justice Ahmed Mohammed gave the order while delivering ruling in an application filed by the Accord through its counsel, Mr Wole Olanipekun (SAN).

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, asked the National Assembly not to take any action on the Bill amending the Electoral Act which President Muhammadu Buhari refused to sign into law.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed gave the order while delivering ruling in an application filed by the Accord through its counsel, Mr Wole Olanipekun (SAN) asking for a preservative order on the matter.

The judge said: “All parties in the suit are hereby directed to maintain status quo pending the determination of the substantive suit between now and the next adjourned date.”

Mohammed said that he was making the order to preserve the sanctity and integrity of the court adding that he was not granting the motion on the face of the application.

He noted the apprehension expressed by the plaintiff with regards to Section 58 of the Constitution which says that where the president withholds assent to a bill and it is passed by both houses of the National Assembly, it becomes law.

The judge, however, stated that no time frame had been stipulated within which the National Assembly should convene and form two third majority to pass the law.

The plaintiff had approached the court seeking an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the National Assembly from taking action or actions on the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, 2018.

The plaintiff said it wanted the restraining order so that the NASS would not pass the bill by two-third majority until the final determination of the substantive originating summons.

The plaintiff is claiming “a declaration that the legislative powers vested in the national assembly by the constitution do not empower or imbue it with the right, liberty or authority to pass or purport to pass any bill into Law.

“This is with regards to a bill which attempts to interfere with or undermine the independence of INEC as guaranteed by the content, spirit and tenor of the Constitution.

“A declaration that the legislative powers vested in the National Assembly by the Constitution do not empower or imbue it with the right, liberty or authority to control or dictate to INEC the way and manner it should organise, undertake and supervise elections.

“This is with regards to elections to the offices of the President and Vice president, Governor and deputy governor of a state, membership of the Senate, the House of Representatives and the House of Assembly of each state including fixing the sequence and dates of the elections into the said offices.”

ALSO READ: Buhari, lawmakers disagree again and this time it's over amendment of electoral act

Counsel to the National Assembly, Ms Chinelo Ogbozor had argued that the substantive matter was not yet ripe for hearing since her client was served less than 48 hours ago.

Ogbozor further argued that it was wrong for her client to be pressured into making an undertaking not to take any action on the matter since her client was still within time to respond to the motion.

“The defendant cannot be put under pressure by a party who is yet to comply with provisions of the law.

“Also for the plaintiff to try to bundle the defendant to respond in less than 48 hours to a process he took his time to prepare tantamount to injustice,” she argued.

Justice Mohammed adjourned the matter until March 20, for hearing of the motion.

Tech: A grueling diet beloved by Instagrammers cuts out everything from alcohol to dairy — here's how well it works

Fish, veggies and eggs are all staples of the Whole30 diet.

The Whole30 diet is not for the faint of heart. It's billed as a 30-day eating pattern re-set, and you're going to have to forgo a lot of food groups to do it.

Do you want to temporarily stop drinking alcohol and cut all sugar, grains, beans, peanuts and dairy from your plate for a month?

Then the Whole30 diet is for you.

Created in 2009 by then-husband and wife pair Melissa and Dallas Hartwig, the basic premise of the month-long regime is that if you put only "good" things in your body, you’ll feel better, reduce inflammation and transform your relationship with food.

Melissa, a former heroin addict, came up with the plan after she left rehab, quit smoking, joined a gym and started eating healthier. She decided to share what worked so well for her with the masses, and the Instagrammable hashtag #Whole30, which to date has spawned more than 3.4 million posts, was born.

Whole30 involves a lot of diet restriction and willpower, which means the diet may not be the right choice for everyone. In fact, it ranked near the bottom of the list of US News & World Report's 40 best diets of 2018.

Here's how it works.

There are at least seven big no-no's on the Whole30 diet.

The first: Absolutely no alcohol all 30 days. This includes cooking with wine. Whole30 is meant to be a kind of radical body cleanse, and for that reason, the inventors also ask people to refrain from smoking during the 30 days of the fast.

Bread and whole grains are also off-limits.

Eating whole grains can be a great way to incorporate belly-filling fiber and satisfying protein into your diet, all while reducing inflammation. But forget about it if you're doing Whole30.

That includes quinoa.

Just about every kind of starch, bran or germ you can think of is off-limits. Gluten-free bread, buckwheat flour, amaranth or rice? No, no, no and no.

However, potatoes, which were formerly banned from the diet, are ok for Whole30-ers now. (Still, no potato chips or french fries allowed.)

Forget about sugar, at least for the next 30 days.

That includes less obvious sweets, too, like honey, agave and maple syrup.

Sugar replacements like stevia, Splenda and Equal are also not allowed.

The point of the diet is to upend your bad eating habits completely, not just replace one treat for another treat-substitute.

No beans or peanuts.

In general, these are cheap, fiber-rich protein sources, however.

Goodbye, dairy.

There's no dairy on the plan, either. You won't be getting any gut-friendly yogurt cultures or probiotics this month.

If you eat out or nibble on something in a package, make sure it doesn't contain any seaweed-derived carrageenan thickeners in it or Monosodium glutamate (MSG).

Carrageenans can cause inflammation, and there's some evidence that MSG can trigger headaches.

Whole30 also says that sulfites are banned from the diet, but dieters are still allowed to season with balsamic vinegar and cook eggs, even though both of those contain sulfites. (Sulfite sensitivity is a fairly rare condition, affecting between 1 in 20 and 1 in 100 asthmatics.)

In fact, there are several ways that Whole30 lets you break its strict regime: clarified butter is ok, though real butter is not, and iodized table salt, which contains some sugar is allowed. It's not clear why Whole30 made these exceptions, but without them the diet would be extremely hard to follow.

Don't even think about stepping on the scale this month.

You aren’t allowed to weigh yourself and you don’t need to count calories on the diet.

That’s a strange strategy because regular weigh-ins are generally considered a helpful way to maintain a healthy weight for the long haul.

Other processed foods you might crave, like cookies, pancakes, pizzas or chips, are also not welcome on your journey — even if they're made from ingredients that are technically not on the "banned" Whole30 list.

Anything you enjoyed eating before that you don't think is "psychologically healthy" for your diet isn't a good idea, according to Whole30.

The premise is that by severely restricting what you eat for a month, you're clearing out your system and figuring out what causes inflammation, while also changing your relationship with food.

"A pancake is still a pancake, even if it is made with coconut flour," as the Whole30 crew says.

The Whole 30 website even admits the basic mantra of the program is restriction: "When in doubt, leave it out. It’s only 30 days."

At this point, you're probably thinking "Is there anything at all I can eat on Whole30?"

Ideally, your diet is going to consist of a lot of fresh veggies and meats.

No sugar or sweeteners are allowed on the plan. But since fruit juice comes from fruit (which you are allowed to eat) this is one way you could sweeten things up for the month.

The Whole30 site says simply: "We had to draw the line somewhere."

The diet allows a little fruit juice to flavor sauces, soups, and entrees. But drinking a glass of fruit juice is not in the spirit of the diet, and juice has less nutritional value than a piece of fruit, so don't think you're going to sip your way through the month.

Eggs, fruit and natural fats like avocados, cashews, coconut products and olive oil are basically the rest of your diet.

Whole30 also recommends some supplements, including fish oil, vitamin D, magnesium, and probiotics.

Research tells us that with the notable exception of Vitamin D, it's probably better to get those things in foods, not pills.

In short, Whole30 is not the cheapest diet you could pick out.

But you'll probably be preparing a lot more food at home, and not drinking, which may help balance out the cost of buying extra meats, fish, and fresh fruit.

It's also not the best diet for the Earth.

If everyone in the world decided to embark on the Whole30 diet, we'd all be pretty hungry. There simply aren't enough eggs, meat, and fish to go around when we're not eating other protein sources.

Whole30 is a very strict diet: If you slip up and eat a banned food, it's back to Day 1.

At some point, your willpower is probably going to break a little.

So a harsh slap on the wrist probably isn't the most effective way to improve your diet over the long term.

Diet experts say the goal of the Whole30, a healthier relationship with food, is an admirable one. But many argue this diet goes about it in a counterproductive way.

Dietitian Jessica Penner isn't a fan: "The Whole 30 is a short-term solution to a long-term problem," she writes on her website.

The founders call the plan a “short-term nutrition reset” After 30 days, you can slowly add more banned foods back in to your daily routine.

The idea is that you pay attention to how you feel as you begin adding more foods to your plate, and limit those that make you feel inflamed and sluggish.

Nutrition experts caution that 30 days may not really be enough for your body to re-set, though.

"In a clinical setting, we put patients on these sorts of restrictive diets for three months, because the immune system needs three months to shut off," Alessio Fasano, director of the Center for Celiac Research and Treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital, told Time. "Thirty days isn’t enough time to turn off systemic inflammation."

While Whole30 aims to improve people's relationship with food, it can sometimes have the opposite effect, shaming people into feeling awful for slipping up and eating a "bad" food, or forcing them to give up on the diet because they decide they don't have what it takes.

Whole30 may look pretty in pictures, but it's much simpler to opt for smaller, reasonable changes to your diet.

Most nutritionists agree that plant-based diets centered around veggies, whole grains, and lean proteins (like beans) are the way to go.

So if you’re just looking to make small improvements to your eating habits, the Whole30 diet probably isn’t the best option for you.

Especially because after the 30 days are up, you're largely on your own to decide how to add a whole plethora of banned foods, — including bread, beans, and cheese — back in to your regular diet.

Police

There was violence in Abuja on Wednesday when a fight broke between soldiers, policemen and a female Road Safety marshal.

It was learnt that the soldiers and policemen were attached to the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB).

The fight, according to reports, broke when a violation notice was to be served at the Road Safety office in Wuze Zone 7.

In a bid to resist the delivery of the violation notice, a civilian staff of the AEPB was reported held hostage by the Road Safety marshals.

It was learnt that a soldier was also wounded.

The soldiers and policemen who were part of the AEPB team seized a Road Safety officer, in retaliation.

Metuh attends fraud trial in wheelchair

The PDP chieftain asked the court to grant him permission to travel abroad for medical treatment.

Former National Publicity Secretary of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, was wheeled in a wheelchair to the resumption of his money laundering trial at a Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

During proceedings, Metuh's counsel, Emeka Etiaba (SAN), asked the court that his client be allowed to travel to the United Kingdom to seek adequate medical treatment for his worsening health.

He presented a letter from one Dr. Adrian T.H. Kasey, a neurosurgeon at Wellington Hospital in London, who said Metuh needs to be treated urgently.

The PDP chieftain had been forced to make his last court appearance on a stretcher as he was brought in an ambulance in a bid to heed Justice Okon Abang's directive to show up in court or have his bail revoked.

His lawyer, Onyeachi Ikpeazu (SAN), told the court that he was on admission at the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital for an undisclosed ailment.

Metuh's trial

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is prosecuting Metuh and his company, Destra Investments Limited, on a seven-count charge bordering on fraud and money laundering.

The alleged offence involved $2 million and N400 million which the defendant allegedly received from the office of then-National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, in 2014.

While the money was earmarked "for security services" in the exhibits presented to the court, Metuh allegedly spent it on the party and personal affairs.

Strategy: Walmart will start delivering groceries to shoppers across the US — and it's a direct assault against Amazon (WMT)

Walmart will soon deliver groceries to nearly half of US shoppers.

Walmart will charge a flat fee of $9.95 for delivery and require a minimum order of $30 to access the service.

  • Walmart is expanding grocery delivery this year to more than 800 stores that will reach 40% of US households.
  • Walmart will charge a flat fee of $9.95 for delivery and require a minimum order of $30 to access the service.
  • Walmart is going all-in on grocery delivery one month after Amazon announced it would start offering members of its Prime service free two-hour delivery from Whole Foods, which Amazon acquired last year in a $13.7 billion deal.

Walmart is expanding its grocery delivery service across the US this year, the company announced Wednesday.

The service, which offers same-day delivery in as little as three hours, will be expanded from six metro areas to more than 100, ultimately reaching more than 40% of US households by the end of the year.

Walmart will charge a flat fee of $9.95 for delivery and require a minimum order of $30 to access the service.

The retailer plans to use its own personal shoppers to pick and pack delivery orders in more than 800 stores. It will partner with Uber and other crowdsourced delivery companies to transport the groceries to customers' doorsteps.

"We're moving fast to save our customers time," Tom Ward, vice president of digital operations for Walmart, said on a call with reporters on Tuesday.

He said Walmart will be "aggressive" with the rollout and plans to eventually make the service available to all of its US shoppers.

Walmart is going all-in on grocery delivery one month after Amazon announced it would start offering members of its Prime service free two-hour delivery from Whole Foods, which Amazon acquired last year in a $13.7 billion deal.

Target and Kroger have also been expanding their grocery delivery services. Target announced earlier this year that it plans to offer same-day delivery of groceries from half of its 1,800 stores using Shipt, a delivery startup it recently acquired.

Meanwhile, Kroger said Monday that it's expanding its delivery services to 500 additional stores — from the nearly 900 stores where it's currently offered — through its partnership with Instacart.

Ward declined to directly address rival delivery services. But he made a veiled reference to Instacart, which sometimes charges customers higher prices on goods than the retailers that sell them.

"Unlike other services, customers will find the same everyday low prices" on groceries through Walmart's website and app, he said.

The midfielder who was in action as Manchester United lost to Sevilla in a Champions League round of 16 clash, talked about his personality and style of play in the interview.

Fellaini who was brought in by David Moyes, talked about his relationship with current United manager Jose Mourinho and how much he has learnt under the Portuguese coach.

He said, “I've learnt a lot with him. Jose is someone who wants to win every game: he pushes players to get the maximum from them.”

The midfielder also dismissed notions that he is a nasty player who only wishes to partake in the negative aspect of the game.

Fellaini reiterated that there are many aspects to his game both as a creative player and a player who provides defensive stability.

He said, “It think it's easy for them to portray me as an aggressive player, but I'm not, ”

“I try to play my game, I try my best to recover the ball quickly: that's my job. Try to be better all the time, to give my best for the team, for the club. I always want to improve.”

Felliani also hinted that the Belgian Red devils aim to impress at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

“We’re ready and want to do something special for the Belgian fans.” Felliani said.

Felliani is expected to be in action when Manchester United face Brighton & Hove Albion in their FA Cup quarter final clash on Saturday, March 17.

Erotic Story/Marvis Dairies: Stealing sex from a fraudulent boss

Sandra is down on her luck, without job and money but someone is promising her job on one condition, sex for the job.

Sandra stepped out of the last office, file in hand looking dejected, it may seem as though all door has been shut against me and I cannot get in. I used the last money on me to honour this appointment but as usual it came out futile leaving me stranded.

I walked the long distance home as usual and just as I was about to get into my apartment, my landlord came calling, ranting about how he’s going to evict me in a week’s time if I don’t pay up and left, I got into the house dejectedly and settled down on the bed in my one room self contain apartment and pondered about the day’s dealings.

I was still lost in thought when my phone rang and startled me back from space, it was my mother on the line and I know for sure that the call is just to ask for money.

I answered on the second ring and just as I predicted someone was ill at home and funds are needed for treatment, I sat up after the call and decided to try one more time in another firm the next day.  I got to the firm an hour before my appointment and waited till it was time and they called me in.

The manager asked me to wait and see him after the interview and I did, he told me that there was no vacancy left as the last spot was filled in by an eligible job seeker and that he could fix me up with something if I come down to his level which was letting him fuck me.

I refused and left not without accepting his card which he offered in case I have a rethink, I got home and thought long and hard about it and decided to stick to my initial answer but the incessant call from my Landlord and my mum prompted me to change my mind and I called him to fix a date with him.

The day came and I met him at the hotel restaurant for dinner after which we hung out at a nightclub before heading back to the hotel room, when we got in, he leaned in and kissed me, I let him kiss me for a while before kissing him back, he traced his hands to my boobs and squeezed gently, a moan escaping my lips.

He continued kissing me and squeezing my boobs before stopping abruptly and led me to the bathroom.

Once in he started undressing and I followed his cue, and got into the bathtub together, right there under the warm shower he came at me again and I settled into him more, he trailed his hand to my pussy and started flickering through it, the feeling was intriguing and I leaned more into him moaning into his mouth, I took my hand to his meat pack and started massaging.

He was rock hard and I was fucking wet, he turned me and positioned me on all fours, he then knelt down and slammed into me without warning, he thrusted fiercely for some time and paused to bite my back gently.

The nibbling on my back, turned me on the more and I pushed my ass into him more, he got the cue and started slamming hard into me holding on tight to my boobs, I was seeing stars and didn’t want the rounds of pleasure that I was getting to end.

He had the energy of a stallion and I matched him strength with strength as I pushed into him more as he delivers each thrust, my walls contracted and I knew that I will soon cum, he noticed and slammed harder and deeper and before long I came hard and he continued thrusting my spasm of cum creating more lubrication for him.

He pulled out of me and sat at the edge of the bathtub, I got the cue and straddled him, humping almost immediately, it was his turn to groan and he did justice to it, each time he taps my ass, I go harder on him. It wasn’t long his balls contracted and he shot spasm of cum inside of me.

We had our shower and hit the bed, having two more rounds of sex before morning. I slept hard till the buzz of the telephone woke me up, apparently it was almost 12 and they were calling to know if I’d retain the room considering my host has checked out early in the morning.

I looked around for an envelope of cash but found none, apparently I’ve been used for free and has nothing, absolutely nothing to show for it, no job, no money, nothing.

Aminu Tambuwal: Sokoto govt. releases N510m to curb water shortage

Sokoto partners World Bank on 500km rural roads

Gov. Aminu Tambuwal made this known when he inspected the water levels at Goronyo Dam which, experts said, have depleted by over 90 per cent.

The Sokoto State Government has released N510 million to address the problem of water shortage facing the people of the state.

Gov. Aminu Tambuwal made this known when he inspected the water levels at Goronyo Dam which, experts said, have depleted by over 90 per cent.

Tambuwal said that the money would be spent on the provision of water treatment chemicals, equipment maintenance, settlement of electricity bills and provision of gas, among other facilities, to ensure effective water distribution.

He said that strategies would be devised to tackle the current water scarcity challenges facing the Sokoto metropolis and some major towns across the state.

The governor, after inspecting the dam, said that the depletion of the dam’s water level was quite alarming.

“The reservoir of Goronyo Dam was constructed to hold one billion cubic metres of water but as we’ve seen today, the water in the dam is just about 100 million cubic metres.

“This has resulted in inadequate water supply to the water board and in effect, we had to resort to rationing water supply to the people.

“We have, however, adopted proactive measures to boost water supply to the people, pending when the rains will come and increase the volume of water in the dam.

“I have directed the state water board to immediately reactivate 12 boreholes in the Sokoto metropolis and build additional ones to supplement what we get from other sources,” he said.

Tambuwal urged residents to be more patient, as efforts were underway to find lasting solutions to their water supply problems.

He, nonetheless, urged them to economise their use of water and stop wasting water “because it is a precious commodity.

“We are doing everything possible to overcome these challenges,” he added.

The governor, however, appealed to religious and community leaders to pray for early rainfall in the state this year.

Mr Buhari Bature, the Managing Director of Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, while conducting the governor round the dam site, said that the water depletion in the dam was the worst ever experienced in the last 25 years.

He attributed the problem to factors such as the shortage of rainfall in 2017, climate change and the non-desilting of the dam.

Bature said that the problem had affected water supply to the state water board as well as irrigation farming in Sokoto and Kebbi states.

A Culture of Silence: There has to be a reason (or three) why Nigerians don't talk about sex

Even though we are known for doing the deed, Nigerians treating talking about sex like a taboo.

It happened so much while we grew up that we learned to look out for the cues. You’d be seeing a movie with them and as soon as Jim Iyke and Rita Dominic began to look into each other’s eyes too deeply, you’d close your eyes and just to be sure you’d cover your face with your hands.

All of this was basically because our Nigerian parents did not feel comfortable talking about sex. Sure, it was packaged as many things; that we should not get corrupted was the most morally upright explanation.

But we did. Most in my generation learned about sex on their own in manners that differ from person to person.

The implications stretch far into all the inane offers that you’ve gotten and the ignorance that has created and normalised a culture of harassment among Nigerian men.

Ignorance is Bliss

One of the primary reasons why Nigerians are reluctant to talk about sex is the safety of ignorance , the simple illusion that “If they don’t know about it, they won’t try it”.

Obedience is better than sacrifice, the Holy Book says. And what better way to treat disobedience than to protect you from temptation.

ALSO READ: Why is everyone now talking about bondage and dominance in sex?

The biblical analogies aside, Nigerian parents avoid talking about sex because of the belief that ignorance will prevent younger people from getting lured into experimenting.

Virginity and sexual fidelity have great cultural value. The society does what it can to protect the innocence of the younger ones, forgetting that they are sexual beings who will find answers to their questions by themselves.

All of us are children of God

It's hard to not strike a connection between this and the idea of traditional Morality — Because nobody wants to be the one who's getting asked, ”Why are you teaching people things they should not know?”

Even in modern Nigerian society, the standards set by tradition are still highly regarded. Morality is at the core of most of these, and most people try to satisfy that standard, at least in public.

ALSO READ: Consent is important, guys. 'No' means 'No'

It means , while lewd jokes are flung about in the comfort of privacy, most people are reluctant to talk about sex in public. It’s a fun topic but nobody wants to beat the one who’s spread immorality among the society.

Dirty linen and all that sturvs

Finally, there's the idea of Intimacy.  You must have heard older Nigerians speak condescendingly to a young child after the latter blurts something private out in public, “We do not talk about such private things in the open”

Bumbling about in your birthday suit and trusting your body to another individual is about as intimate as one can get. Within the privacy of that space, people have sex in ways that will confound you.

Most people feel a strong need to protect their decency so talking about sex, especially in public, is a No. There are few things more animalistic than sex; it is us at our most rabid and unfettered.

ALSO READ: Is Infidelity in Lagos the worst in Nigeria?

Our reluctance to talk about sex means we get to deny or ignore this part of ourselves. It is basically a protection of privacy for the most part.

As I earlier wrote, the implications of this silence are far-reaching. However, there's some reprieve to be found in what social media offers.

Apart from an audience that is more open to talking about their sexual habits, the emergence of sexual therapists, counsellors and vendors have thrown what was a hidden habit right in our faces.

So we may not be talking about sex on the street yet, but all you have to do is just wait for it.

Lent: 3 different types of fasting to try during Holy season

Lent: 3 different types of fasting to try during Holy season

Here are some great ideas to incorporate before the Lenten season runs out.

Lent, which started on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, is still ongoing.

Luckily for us, this means we still have time to figure out and incorporate new things like different ways to fast.

Here are three different types of fasting for the Lenten season.

Partial fast

As the name implies, the person doing this type of fast has to abstain from either one kind of food or various types of foods.

This is based on Daniel 1:12 and Daniel 10:2–3, which says, “At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips, and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.”

Sexual fast

This is also self-explanatory. The person basically stays away from all sexual activity. See 1 Corinthians 7:3–6.

Full fast

This is an absolute kind of fasting where all food or water is avoided. This can be found in the Bible when Easter and her fellow Jews did this for three days (See Esther 4:16).

Pulse Religion offers an additional one called social media fast. This is a modern kind of fast, where social media is avoided.

The goal is to spend the time usually used on social media on praying, Bible study and everything that concerns God.

Lent 2018 ends on Thursday, March 29, 2018.

Politics: Trump suggests creating new military branch called 'Space Force' — but the idea is not new

President Donald Trump arrives speaks to service members at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in San Diego.

Congress has discussed creating a Space Corps to counter Russia and China's aim to develop anti-satellite weaponry.

  • President Donald Trump suggested creating a branch of the military for space during an appearance in San Diego, California, on Tuesday.
  • "My new national strategy for space recognizes that space is a war-fighting domain just like the land, air and sea," Trump said at Miramar Air Station. "We may even have a Space Force."
  • While Trump appears to have wandered into the issue in his Tuesday speech, the idea is not new. It was proposed by the Congressional Strategic Forces Subcommittee last July. The idea never got off the ground.

While speaking to US Marines in San Diego on Tuesday, President Donald Trump suggested creating a branch of the military for space.

"My new national strategy for space recognizes that space is a war-fighting domain just like the land, air and sea," Trump said at Miramar Air Station. "We may even have a Space Force."

"You know, I was saying it the other day cause we're doing a tremendous amount of work in space," Trump said. "I said 'maybe we need a new force, we'll call it the space force.' And I was not really serious, and then I said 'what a great idea, maybe we'll have to do that.'"

"That could happen, that could be the big breaking story," Trump said. "Look at all those people back there," Trump said, pointing to the media in the background. "Look at them…Ohhhh, that fake news."

While Trump appears to have wandered into the issue in his Tuesday speech, the idea is not new.

The Congressional Strategic Forces Subcommittee even proposed creating such a branch last July, which they called Space Corps. But the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act that passed last November actually banned it.

The proposed Space Corps would have fallen under the Air Force branch.

Republican Mike Rogers, the chairman of the Strategic Forces Subcommittee, however, said in February that he expects such a force to be built in three to five years, according to Defense News.

Supporters of the Space Corps have argued that it's needed to counter Russia and China's desire to build anti-satellite weaponry.

Strategy: This couple flew around the world in first class using airline points — and paid less than $2,000 for $55,000 of airfare

Erin and Alex Miller are experts on finding cheap flights that would otherwise cost a fortune.

Cheap flight experts Alex and Erin Miller of UpgradedPoints.com paid just $300 each for a transatlantic flight in Singapore Airlines' plush first class suites.

  • Cheap-flight experts Alex and Erin Miller of UpgradedPoints.com flew around the world in first-class and luxury airlines.
  • Their eight-leg trip was valued at $55,000, but they managed to pay just $1,087 each.
  • Their secret is leveraging thousands of credit card points into frequent flyer miles.

Alex and Erin Miller are travel hackers extraordinaire.

In 2016, the couple launched UpgradedPoints.com to share their tricks for converting credit card points into cheap flights.

The Millers recently cashed in hundreds of thousands of points to book a month-long trip around the world aboard luxury airlines. Their eight flights, valued at more than $55,000, cost the couple just $1,087 each.

Read on to find out how they did it — and what it was like to ride with Singapore Airlines, one of the world's best international airlines.

Alex and Erin's trip took them from New York to Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates. For their long-haul flight from New York to Singapore, they booked a Singapore Airlines first-class suite.

Alex began planning the trip more than a year in advance. He said the best strategy is to start by choosing your destination, then researching which airlines fly there, and then seeing whether your credit card allows you to convert points into miles with those airlines.

Singapore Airlines, for example, is a transfer partner of Chase, Amex, SPG, and Citi. To book their eight-leg trip, the Millers used 182,000 American Express Membership Rewards Points, about 280,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points, and 160,000 SPG Points.

Alex has earned millions of miles since 2011 by strategically using his cards and by maximizing sign-up bonuses, which for some companies run as high as 100,000 points.

Before the Millers' flight to Singapore, their tickets gave them access to the swanky Virgin Atlantic clubhouse in JFK Airport, where they could lounge and enjoy cocktails.

The clubhouse even had a spa and hair salon.

The couple cashed in 187,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points to afford the first-class suite. Each seat had an $8,400 value, but the Millers paid just $300 each in taxes and fees.

For other flights on their itinerary, the Millers used points from their American Express Membership Rewards program and their Starwood Preferred Guest credit cards.

Singapore Airlines pulls out all the stops for first-class passengers, including caviar before dinner. Meal options included lobster thermidor and suckling pig.

Here's a look at the menu.

For dessert, the Millers shared a chocolate cake with macarons, chocolate tuiles, strawberries, and raspberries. The cabin crew stored their leftovers in a refrigerator so the couple could finish it later in the flight.

First-class patrons on Singapore Airlines get sleek amenity bags containing skincare products and perfume.

The airline offered Dom Pérignon and Krug champagne at a moment's notice.

As for entertainment, guests can choose from more than 1,000 movies, TV shows, games, and music options.

"Having the middle suites turned into a double bed was surreal — we couldn't believe we were on an airplane, 35,000 feet in the sky," Erin said.

The Millers have been fare-hacking luxury flights for years by strategically signing up for credit card loyalty programs and accruing points that can be transferred into frequent flyer miles. Their first 'points journey' was their honeymoon in 2014, Alex said.

For their entire eight-leg trip, they paid just over $1,000 each in taxes and fees. Typical economy tickets for the same flights would have topped $2,300 each — meaning the Millers' travel hacking saved them more than 50% off even the cheapest available fare.

For the Millers, the experience was more than worth the year it took to arrange. 'There's no doubt this trip took a lot of planning. But I had so much fun doing it, and the memories will truly last a lifetime,' Alex said.
