Erotic Story: The surrender [Episode 3]

He looked extremely Gothic, yet good looking.

…she couldn't get over his looks. He looked like a devil and an angel at the same time. He's beginning to grow on her.

His voice whispered huskily in her ears. And before she knew it, he grabbed her and pulled her on his thighs.

The prince made her breath catch..

His voice whispered huskily in her ears. And before she knew it, he grabbed her and pulled her on his thighs.

"I want to sample your cunt, but you've committed a mistake that will cost us," the sinfully delicious voice muttered. She shivered at the sound and turned to see his face.

His face was a kaleidoscope of scars…

He looked extremely Gothic, yet good looking. Half his face had slashes down to his neck and the other half was sinfully gorgeous. That was the initial reason for her resenting the marriage.

How could she feel complete with a man looking like two sides of different coins?

Right now, the other half was turned towards her and she couldn't get over his looks. He looked like a devil and an angel at the same time. He's beginning to grow on her.

His face was all sharp angles and his brows was full and perfect on one side, while the other was singed as if a fire burnt it off.

He smiled wickedly and then frowned….

That sent a shiver of fear through her. "You stink of that bastards' cum. Come take a bath." he dragged her towards an outhouse.

And he didn't bother to turn his back. As she moved to protest, he silenced her with a glance that sent shivers up her spine. His gaze was scorching.

She quickly took her bath and he roughly dragged her to his room. He called for a servant and a woman rushed in quick.

"Get my wife a wool cloth. She shivers and i need her warm." The maid rushed to do his biding.

She couldn't help to think if he's ever fucked the maid….

The maid brought in a wool cloth and she hastily wrapped it around herself. He advanced on her and she took several steps back. He smiled and she could feel the joy her fear gave him. She couldn't deny the thrill that ran through her too.

There's no escape. His fingers ran around her body and gripped her tightly. "There's no escaping me, anymore. You love me, even with my imperfections.." he grinned.

He stood up and a lavicious glint roared around him. "Time to fuck." he said simply.. A slam of lust made her knees buckle. She wants this powerful man. He pulled out his member.

It was monstrous and thick, with a dripping bead of moisture escaping the tip, that drew her attention.

He noted her riveted attention to the bobbing length and he grinned with pride. “Like what you see?” Yes! The word screamed in her head but she simply smiled.

The fire of lust consumed her and she was ready to succumb…

He pressed his mouth against hers, jabbing his tongue in as he pressed against her. She kissed him back, dueling with his tongue without reservation, desire and lust clouding her logical mind.

He was rough in his touch but she didn’t care. A low growl rumbled from his chest as he squeezed her breasts hard enough to leave a bruise.

The nipples were reddened and aching, needing to be handled and sucked. He pinched the tips meanly and she shuddered against him.

He dipped his long finger inside her, testing her slick passage and withdrew only to pop it into his mouth, tasting her. “Sweet like honey,” he said.. Arousal clouding his voice. Suddenly, his touch gentled.

He showered her body with kisses and she was on a different cloud, having never experienced tenderness like this.

He gently licked her body and rove his tongue all over her, making her sing. This was far better than what she experienced with the other slaves. This is what it felt like to be touched and appreciated. This is what love feels like.

And by the time he entered her- her asshole of course, she's fallen more in love.

Short Story: The broken vase

Say no to violence and child abuse…

A shocking shatter of the ceramics engulfed the room, and on impulse her mother zoomed into the room like “The Flash” to find her most precious vase, in pieces.

With a heavy thud, it struck itself down to the floor of Amaka’s living room.

A shocking shatter of the ceramics engulfed the room, and on impulse her mother zoomed into the room like “The Flash” to find her most precious vase, in pieces. In the context of reality, Ngozi should have known that “the value of an object is magnified by the person wielding it”.

Abusive Correction

Without considering what could happen, she pushed her daughter so hard with a heavy spanking on the shoulder. I’m sorry mommy! The daughter screamed frightfully, but her mother wasn’t accepting any of it. Like a loosed wolf on the night of a full moon, she pounced on the girl and continued to hit her till she could hit no more.

You better stand up from there right now! In fact, go get the broom and clean this place up. She instructed and went back to the room. A breeze of silence echoed her angry voice over and over until she paused to listen in, it felt like a sepulchre in the desert. Not even a buzzing fly could perch on any part of the environment, as if no life has ever inhabited. Then she remembered Amaka! Ngozi then proceeded to peep through the glass window so as to observe whether or not Amaka was finished with the cleaning.

Amaka’s Bio

Although, Amaka never knew her dad till she was 5 years old. Her mother got pregnant out of wedlock, and as a first child she was thrown out of the house for bringing shame to the family. Amaka was later handed over to her dad right after her mother passed away 8 years ago. Before the event took place, Amaka’s father was already happily married to Ngozi. And as it stands, Ngozi is yet to have a child with him even though she’s a mother to two other kids.

Being unable to bear kids with a man and suddenly, a child surfaces from somewhere? I suppose some women won’t be thrilled with that kind of change either. But in this case, Ngozi cooked up so much bitterness and resentment towards Amaka, thereby obstructing her sense of realization to the fact that Amaka is just a child.

Amaka! Amaka!! Amaka!!! This stupid girl thinks I’m joking abi?

I will deal with her in this house……. Why are you not answering me? Silly girl!

In that manner she rushed in through the door, to her greatest awe, there she was.

The little girl, laid helplessly on the cold somewhat shiny floor, in her own pool of blood.

Lost in trance

For the first time in her entire life, Ngozi had no clue on what to do. Time was slowly dashing away and Amaka was still bleeding. Ngozi decided to run to the neighbours’, but not a soul was present in the hood. Things were gradually getting sour, the little girl was starting to become clouded in pale white skin.

Ngozi was nowhere to be found…..!! Her dumbfounded soul could not fathom that which befell her…oh, what a shame this is, Ngozi’s uncontrolled emotions hath finally rewarded her with a slap from the furnace of reality. This was hard-core reality….no turning back….it is over….and so she ran away as the wind of guilt chased her through…

The floor of the living room was married with floral tiles. And mixed with it was the almost lifeless body of Amaka shivering and gasping for air. Amaka couldn’t cry no more, neither could she move, for she’d been pierced by a piece of the broken vase. And all that was left for her, was that moment in trance……so, she wept from the bottom of her innermost being, calling out to her saviour.

Save me! Dear God, I beseech thee! Please save me, for I need not die vain…..

To be continued……..

Stand up for a mistreated child…

Say no to violence and child abuse…

Be the voice behind the muted and the frightened…

Humanity is worth everything…..

PDP Will Never Return To Power, Tinubu Boasts

Tinubu

Lagos – A siwaju Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday hit at Nigeria’s major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the party would never return to power.

Tinubu, who made the remarks while speaking at the 10th Bola Tinubu Colloquium, an event held to mark his 66th birthday, also urged Nigerians not to accept the apology offered by the PDP earlier this week.

He said the APC would continue to talk about how the party mismanaged the country’s wealth in the last 16 years in order to enlighten Nigerians.

Speaking on the performance of the ruling party so far, Tinubu, who claimed that the party never said fundamental and sustainable reforms would be easy, added that the party, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, had judiciously maximised the scarce resources of the country by investing in the electorate who voted the party into power as evidenced in the social investment programmes of the Federal Government.

“When we came in, we came in with a whole lot of hope as APC leaders, several discussions with diplomatic corps, with foreign dignitaries, putting heads together, thinking and believing in ourselves that we can change Nigeria for good.

“We were strongly determined that we will do it. We gave our people the confidence and the hope. We believe in ourselves. We believe in Nigeria and we are still going to do it.

“Life is not interesting without challenges. We didn’t come as a political party showing our logo as honey and sugar.

“Our logo is broom, bunched together, united Nigeria focuses against terrorism, corruption, and promote economic revival of the country, investing in people.

“I can see what the government is doing with so little but they are clever. The fact that they are doing it, the fact that there are beneficiaries, the fact that it is demonstrated in practical terms, is what we need to get our country from the throat of corrupt officers.

“They said don’t talk about it. What should we talk about? That we came in to play chess. We saw your thievery and stealing and looting and we say ‘okay, you can continue the same way, let’s join you. It is because we are against you. We won’t encourage you. And if we are not talking about it, what is the lesson to all Nigerians. Forget those parties, they won’t come back.

“There is no nation without challenges. Even America is facing challenges.

“We didn’t say we will not be challenged, but we have to report to millions of Nigerians who voted for us that this is what we find and we are not going to keep silent, no matter how twisting the minds of PDP and their supporters may be.

“We will keep talking about it. You looted, you wasted our resources. You did not do what you promised.”

Tinubu also took a swipe at former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his recent letter castigating the performance of President Buhari.

Describing Obasanjo’s letter as ‘bad belle’ letter, he said he would address the issues at a later date.

He also frowned at those comparing the APC to the PDP, saying the difference between the two parties is like night and day.

“Thank you Nigerians for being patient with us. There is a clear understanding here. There is a difference between us and them; night day.

“I want the Economic Minister to give us a data first quarter of year 2012 and for their 16 years.

“I remember my grandmother used to send me to a letter writer at the Post Office of those days and at the magistrate court.

“So, somebody who is writing letter these days, a letter of politics – as if they’ve never been there before. Bad belle letters. I don’t want to address that for today.

“I am happy the president has changed the course of this ship wreckage, the ship of this country that is headed in a wrong direction.

“To steer the ship back on anchor before the final crash. It was but necessary and we started this journey.

“The voyage is on. The voyage of hope, the voyage that we are reclaiming Nigeria.

“We are retooling Nigeria, we are reinventing Nigeria, we are redirecting Nigeria. It is not an easy course to embark on.

“Dear Nigerians, don’t take their apology. They lied, they falsified, they changed figures.

“For 16 years, they made false promises, gave us fake figures and they said don’t talk about it.

“It is like when you catch a thief and he says, ‘don’t look at me, go and steal your own’.

“We are not taking that. We have a nation to rescue. We have a good leader to emulate, we have hope,” he added.

In his remark, President Muhammadu Buhari described Tinubu as a humanitarian and political strategist who had invested in a lot of people and was committed to the progress of the country and Africa.

“I am happy to be here with you to celebrate with you the birthday of my friend…, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I call on all Nigerians to join me in celebrating this man. Asiwaju is widely known as a political strategist.

“I call on Nigerians to join me to celebrate Asiwaju, a man who is widely known as a political strategist and I have come to see him as a man who cares about people and is a fountain of ideas for the economy and for the common man and woman.”

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in his address said he was proud to have garnered experience in public service under the tutelage of Tinubu when he was governor of Lagos State.

He noted that it was during that period the foundation of development currently ongoing in Lagos was laid.

He particular alluded to the concept of the Land Use Charge which Tinubu’s administration initiated, saying that despite the challenges and dissenting voices, he (Tinubu) successfully defended it, a move which, according to him, made Lagos better for it.

In his welcome address, Governor Ambode said Tinubu’s era as governor of Lagos, from 1999 to 2007, showed the depth of his governance capacity, adding that he had over the years sustained his relevance in the nation’s polity.

“After his gubernatorial years, he has continued to show pivotal leadership, particularly on the national stage.

“It is not for nothing that he is acknowledged for his defining role in the emergence of a progressive political party in Nigeria,” the governor said.

He said there was no better birthday present that his friends and well-wishers could give to him as befitting what the theme of this year colloquium has epitomised, saying that Tinubu’s legacy was built around his capacity to invest in people.

The event, which held at the Eko Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, had in attendance state governors, members of the National Assembly, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional rulers, political and religious leaders and several dignitaries too numerous to mention.

Conspicuously absent, however, was Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, embattled National Chairman of APC; Bukola Saraki, Senate President, who was represented by Senator Ahmad Lawan, Majority Leader of the Senate, and Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Senate rejects $350 million Kaduna loan request

Members of the Nigerian Senate PHOTO: TWITTER/ NIGERIAN SENATE

• SERAP urges legislators to return illegal allowances

Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s request to secure a $350 million World Bank loan for Kaduna State was yesterday rejected by the Senate. It said the state government already has an existing backlog of $231 million debt with a low Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) status. The upper chamber added that if the new loan request was granted, Kaduna would be the most indebted state across the country.

It further cautioned the presidency and other relevant agencies and ministries not to circumvent the provisions of the extant debt management act.Chairman, Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, Senator Shehu Sani, reading the report at plenary also affirmed that the state government has not even convincingly shown how the loan will be judiciously used and beneficial to the people of the state.

Suffice it to say that none of the three senators from the state supported the loan request as they took turns in expressing their disapproval.Sani, who represents Kaduna central, said if the request is granted, the state’s debt stock will rise to $582.1 million.

Supporting the resolution, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi representing Kaduna North said the loan should not be approved because it would increase the financial burden of state and that the reasons for the request sent to the World Bank were not in tandem with the purpose for which the loan was sought. He further emphasised that the loan request for the Kaduna Development Policy Operation (DPO) was a misplacement of priorities.

Senator Danjuma La’ah representing Kaduna South also said the loan request lacks the mandate of his constituents. But deputy Senate Leader, Bala Na’Allah, averred that it was a lesson for democracy, particularly with governors who refuse to consult with their people and representatives before seeking such massive loan approval.

Presiding Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, in affirmation said, “a loan application for infrastructural development is not bad in itself but the failure to consult with representatives of the people before application was clearly undemocratic.”

In another development, the upper chamber condemned the fresh killings of not less than 66 persons in Zamfara State on Wednesday night.Though unconfirmed reports put the number of casualties at 66 and 15 but women and children were mostly affected.

Senator Kabiru Marafa representing Zamfara central senatorial district said the killings took place within his constituency and beyond. He lamented that young married women were forcefully separated from their husbands and gang-raped with impunity.

Meanwhile, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), yesterday urged members of the National Assembly to return voluntarily running costs and other allowances so far collected, and now declared as illegal by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).The call was predicated on the recent declaration by RMAFC that the N13.5 million each senator reportedly collects monthly as running cost
was illegal.

Each member of the House of Representatives also reportedly collects N10 million monthly as running cost.According to the commission, the payment is not covered by the Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances) (Amendments) Act 2008 governing emoluments of political office holders in the country.

But SERAP in a statement by its deputy director Timothy Adewale urged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara to “persuade their members to voluntarily return the amount so far collected.’’The group also urged them to use any returned funds to establish a trust fund to improve investment in education and health.

Super Eagles: Who has boarded the plane to Russia, who has checked in and who has booked his flight

Super Eagles

Which player will be in Super Eagles squad for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia?

So the international break is over and the Super Eagles players are back to their respective clubs after two friendly games, their 1-0 win over Poland and the 2-0 loss to Serbia.

Although few players were missing, Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has had the opportunity to assess his players in training sessions and the two friendly games against Poland and Serbia.

Rohr will next see his men together in May and by that time, he would have already submitted a provisional list of 30 to 35 players to FIFA-latest May 14- which will be cut down to the final 23 latest by June 4.

It is indeed now obvious that the just concluded international window was the last opportunity for players to impress Rohr.

Rohr already has 90% of his 2018 World Cup squad already sorted with the rest to be decided from the friendly games against Poland Serbia and form before the end of the season.

So in this piece, we look at the state of all the players ahead of the 2018 World Cup with regards to who will be in Rohr’s list.

On board the flight

Players who have boarded the flight are the ones who will undisputedly be on Rohr’s final list.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa

Played in the last four 2018 World Cup qualifiers and one of the regulars under Rohr.

Francis Uzoho

Gatecrashed the Super Eagles after qualification to the 2018 World Cup and has now played three games. Recent developments have suggested that he will Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper at the World Cup.

Daniel Akpeyi

Has played just twice under Rohr but has been a regular call-up. With three slots available for goalkeepers he should be on board bar any unforeseen circumstance.

Abdullahi Shehu

Played in all the games during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and has been involved in all the friendly games also. Earned his place in the team and is now trusted by Gernot Rohr.

Brian Idowu

Found his way into the flight with a series of fine performances for the Super Eagles. Just three games in and it’s looking like he will be Super Eagles first choice left back in Russia.

Wilfred Ndidi

On the flight. No comment here.

Ogenyi Onazi

One of the senior players in the Super Eagles, he is already on the flight.

John Ogu

A regular name on Super Eagles lists and has impressed whenever he gets the chance. Already on the flight to Russia.

Mikel John Obi

The flight to Russia is going nowhere without the captain. Salute captain!

Oghenekaro Etebo

A regular in the Super Eagles, Etebo has been in the squad for all of the World Cup qualifiers under Rohr. His status as an international has grown so much since his impressive outing for Nigeria’s U-23 at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

Victor Moses

One of Nigeria’s best players at the World Cup qualifying campaign. Few words needed here, Moses is on the flight already.

Kelechi Iheanacho

One of Nigeria’s most popular players, Iheanacho is guaranteed a place in the team.

Alex Iwobi

Regarded as one of the futures of Nigerian football. Has had a prominent role under Rohr and scored the goal that sealed Nigeria’s place in Russia.

Odion Ighalo

Not initially fancied by Rohr, Ighalo has played himself into the team and is on the flight already.

Ahmed Musa

Already has experience of playing at the World Cup and can be very explosive on his day.

Moses Simon

One of the players who has been consistent for the Super Eagles.

Checked in already

These players are very close to getting on the plane. Competition the only thing preventing them from getting on the plane.

Ola Aina

Got his first call-up to the Super Eagles in August 2017 and has been in the squad ever since. Played some games but the intense competition in the Super Eagles fullback position has prevented him from getting on the plane.

Tyronne Ebuehi

Ebuehi has impressed in Super Eagles shirt and got his chances in this international break. Looks like he has gotten the trust of Rohr but that has not been enough to get on the plane yet despite booking his flight and checking in.

Elderson Echiejile

An ever-present figure in the Super Eagles but injury and loss of form has delayed him from getting on the flight. Was on the bench all through during the last international break. Flight booked, he has checked in and waiting at the airport lounge.

Chidozie Awaziem

Has been a regular call-up under Rohr and seems to have gained the trust of his manager who has made him the third-choice central defender just behind the ‘Oyinbo Wall’. There are however still doubts about his abilities.

Joel Obi

His fine form was rewarded with a call-up to the recent friendly games and he played in both. Now booked his flight and there is a feeling that he can check in and further make the flight. He is, however, running out of time.

Kenneth Omeruo

Another player with a World Cup experience but has drastically fallen off the radar due to his inconsistent performances. It doesn’t seem he is rated by Rohr and has rarely been given a chance. The experience of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner has however somehow gotten him past the checking point.

Mikel Agu

Another player who has been regular in Rohr’s squad and has gotten just enough chance to get past the checking point.

Flight booked

These are players who have played some parts in the qualifying campaign and stands a chance of being called up in the event of insane form or injury to other players.

Dele Alampasu

Has not been in the squad since the Zambia game in October 2017. Will be hard for him to get into the squad. Maybe an injury to the other goalkeepers will get him on the plane. For now, he has just booked his flight.

Uche Agbo

A couple of call-ups Agbo is always ready for the Super Eagles.

Kingsley Madu

Another player who has been called up a couple of times.

Brown Ideye

More than a year since he was called up to the Super Eagles. Played in one game during the World Cup qualifiers and was in the squad twice.

Isaac Success

Injuries and loss of form have prevented the forward from being part of the Super Eagles. Might get a chance if he is successful in Spain.

Oladele Ajiboye

Was a surprise he wasn’t called up for the friendly games after his impressive performance at the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Kayode Olarenwaju

Invited a couple of times but is running out of the chance to even check in.

Henry Onyekuru

One of the best Nigerian players of 2016/2017, Onyekuru is one of the most exciting young players. Has not been in action this year because of a long-term injury and racing against time to check in.

Anthony Nwakaeme

Was invited to a couple of games and got some action in just one game during the qualifiers. He has lost his form and was not invited to the recent friendly games.

Junior Ajayi

Made his debut in the game against Serbia and might make a surprise check in.

Gabriel Okechukwu

Gotten another chance with the Super Eagles but checking in for the World Cup might be too much of a task for him.

Politics: Revelations that Trump's lawyer may have dangled pardons to Flynn and Manafort leave a huge question unanswered

U.S. President Donald Trump announces a presidential proclamation placing tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, at the White House in Washington, U.S. March 8, 2018.

It's unlikely a defense attorney would act without the knowledge or approval of his client in an investigation as high-profile as the Russia probe.

  • Following reports that President Donald Trump's lawyer dangled pardons for two key defendants in the Russia probe, the biggest question is: was the lawyer acting on his own? Or was it with the knowledge, and possibly at the direction of, the president?
  • Legal experts said it was unusual for the lawyer, John Dowd, to even reportedly broach the subject of a presidential pardon in his role as Trump's personal lawyer.
  • They added that it's highly unlikely, and even "unimaginable," that Dowd would have acted without Trump's knowledge on an issue like the president's pardon power.
  • One former federal prosecutor also pointed out that while issuing a pardon may not rise to the level of obstruction of justice, dangling one might.

The revelation this week that President Donald Trump's lead defense lawyer may have offered pardons to two key witnesses in the Russia probe raises significant questions.

What was the motive behind the alleged offer? What was the response, if any? And most importantly: was the lawyer acting of his own accord? Or was it with the knowledge, and possibly at the direction of, the president?

John Dowd resigned last week as Trump's primary defense attorney. Until his departure, Dowd was the main point of contact between Trump and the special counsel Robert Mueller. Following Dowd's resignation, attorney Jay Sekulow took over as the primary liaison between Trump and Mueller.

Dowd's name resurfaced when The New York Times reported on Wednesday that he dangled the possibility of a presidential pardon to former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former campaign chairman Paul Manafort last year, as Mueller was closing in on both men. The Washington Post followed up with its own story confirming the detail shortly after.

Flynn pleaded guilty in December to one count of lying to investigators about his Russia contacts. Manafort has pleaded not guilty to dozens of charges related to tax and bank fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy against the US.

Dowd told The Times and The Post he did not discuss pardons with Flynn's or Manafort's lawyers. Sekulow and White House counsel Ty Cobb also said they had no knowledge of any such conversations.

Neither The Times nor The Post were able to confirm whether Dowd made the alleged offer with Trump's knowledge. But legal experts said in interviews this week that not only was it unlikely that Dowd acted without some level of approval from the president, but that it was unusual for him to broach the subject at all in his capacity as Trump's personal lawyer.

"This isn't typical at all, and there's little precedent for this," Cornell Law School vice dean Jens David Ohlin said in reference to Dowd's reported offers.

Pardons are usually handled through a rigorous process that begins at the Department of Justice. The DOJ performs a thorough review and sends a file with a recommendation to the White House. That file is then reviewed by the White House Counsel's Office beofre landing on the president's desk for a final decision.

"Pardons are supposed to be a final check against overcriminalization," Ohlin said, "not a get-out-of-jail free card for administration insiders. The President's personal attorney shouldn't be discussing them at all."

Alex Whiting, a former federal prosecutor who is now a professor at Harvard Law School, said it was "unimaginable" that Dowd would have acted without the president's knowledge.

"First, this isn't just any client and any case Dowd was handling," Whiting said. "You're talking about defending the President of the United States, and there's going to be much more care of what you do on behalf of your client."

Moreover, he said, "the pardon power is so particular to the president, and so unusual, that I can't imagine even the most inexperienced defense lawyer talking about the possibility of a pardon without first raising it with the president."

Trump has touted his pardon power in the past and once reportedly asked aides whether he could pardon himself. He also characterizes the Russia investigation as a politically motivated "witch hunt" and often suggests that the case against his associates is flimsy and lacks merit.

Manafort has mounted an aggressive defense against Mueller, arguing that the special counsel overstepped his mandate by charging him with crimes unrelated to the collusion inquiry.

After Mueller's office filed its first charges against Manafort last October, Trump tweeted, "Sorry, but this is years ago, before Paul Manafort was part of the Trump campaign. But why aren't Crooked Hillary & the Dems the focus?????"

Meanwhile, former FBI director James Comey told the Senate Intelligence Committee in June that Trump asked him, one day after Flynn was fired, to let go of the FBI's investigation into the former national security adviser.

The day after Flynn's guilty plea was announced in December, Trump tweeted that it was a "shame" because Flynn's "actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!" He added that he had to fire Flynn because he "lied to the FBI."

Legal experts said at the time that if Trump knew Flynn had committed a crime when he asked Comey to drop the investigation into him, as Trump's tweet indicated, it would significantly bolster the obstruction case against him. Shortly after, Dowd claimed responsibility for the tweet.

Last weekend, Dowd sent shockwaves through Washington when, for the first time, he publicly called for the Russia investigation to be shut down. He initially said he was acting in his official capacity as Trump's lawyer, but then walked the claim back. Later that day, Trump blasted out a tweet echoing Dowd's calls. In the following days, news reports surfaced that Dowd was acting with Trump's approval when he demanded the investigation be shut down.

Dangling a pardon could prove more treacherous than issuing one

Most legal experts cautioned against tying reports of Dowd's alleged offer to Flynn and Manafort to the obstruction-of-justice case Mueller has been building against Trump since last year, arguing that because the president's power to pardon individuals is near absolute, it likely would not rise to the level of obstruction.

But Whiting floated another theory which rests primarily on the offer of a pardon — as opposed to a pardon itself — and how that could bolster the obstruction case against the president, but for very different reasons.

When an individual is pardoned, they can no longer plead the Fifth Amendment and may be compelled to testify before a grand jury.

Dangling a pardon, however, operates by doing the exact opposite. Whiting wrote on Just Security that in addition to taking place out of the public eye, the primary aim in dangling a pardon "appears to have been to foreclose the prospect of Flynn and Manfort’s cooperating or testifying."

"The message of the dangle was sufficiently clear: hang in there and keep fighting (do not cut a deal with the special counsel) because you will be pardoned before you spend a day in jail," he wrote.

Dowd's alleged conversations with Flynn's and Manafort's lawyers took place as Mueller was circling the two men, but before they were formally charged with any crimes.

When he was representing Trump, Dowd was the most vocally opposed member of the team to the prospect of a sitdown between the special counsel and his client, who has a history of making misleading and exaggerating claims.

According to a source familiar with the matter, Dowd resigned in large part because he was frustrated Trump was not following his advice about declining an interview with Mueller. This week's revelations add yet another layer to Mueller's continued requests for a face-to-face interview with the president.

The reason, Whiting said Thursday, is that if Dowd was acting with the knowledge or approval of the president, an interview would aid the special counsel in establishing the president's intent, as well as an ongoing pattern of obstruction.

"Mueller has to be able to show that when Trump has done or said everything he has over the last year, he's done so with a particular intent in mind," Whiting said. "If it was just one instance, Trump can write it off and say he was trying to help a friend out or acting within his authority. But when you have repeated episodes, that defense falls apart. That's what Mueller needs to get at."

Politics: Revelations that Trump's lawyer may have dangled pardons to Flynn and Manafort leave a huge question unanswered

NAVRC targets active surveillance of disease vectors nationwide

By Luminous Jannamike

ABUJA – The National Arbovirus and Vectors Research Centre (NAVRC) has said it is currently working to bring about a sustained and active nationwide surveillance of infectious disease vectors starting in three North-Central states of Benue, Nasarawa and Niger.

Speaking at the end of a training workshop for State Disease Vector Surveillance Officers, the Coordinator of the centre, Dr. Emeka Asadu, said: “Our immediate aim is to reach a total of nine additional states by the end of 2018 and 24 States by December 2019.

“By active surveillance of disease vectors, we will be providing early warning systems that will enable other responsible agencies of government and NGOs to take preemptive action to forestall the outbreak of serious infectious diseases like Yellow fever. In addition, information obtained from routine vector surveillance will support ongoing efforts to control and eliminate endemic vector borne diseases like malaria.

“The just concluded training aimed to provide skilled state-level manpower for active surveillance of vectors of diseases of public health importance in Nigeria. We are immensely grateful to the Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole. It was only on the account of his uncommon support and encouragement that the centre is able to conceive and proceed with the implementation of this initiative,” he added.

Vanguard reports that NAVRC is the research unit of the Federal Ministry of Health which provides valuable information for effective response to and control of arthropod borne viral infections like Yellow fever and other important endemic vector borne diseases like malaria.

In Niger State: NOA urges communities to surrender illegal weapons to govt.

National Orientation Agency (NOA)

The state Director of NOA, Alhaji Mohammed Ali, made the call while inaugurating a one-day step-down of security sensitisation forum against political thuggery, drug addiction and kidnapping in Bosso Local Government Area.

National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Niger on Thursday urged communities to surrender unregistered or illegal weapons in their possession to government.

The state Director of NOA, Alhaji Mohammed Ali, made the call while inaugurating a one-day step-down of security sensitisation forum against political thuggery, drug addiction and kidnapping in Bosso Local Government Area.

Ali said Federal Government was doing everything possible to regulate the use of firearms and other dangerous weapons to secure lives and property in the country.

He added that “the Federal Government has given time-frame to mop up unregistered firearms and other dangerous weapons in circulation.

“So, if you have any arms and ammunition in your house, you should surrender them to the nearest police because government will go from house to house to recover such weapons.”

The director explained that stockpiling illegal weapons in communities was responsible for some of the clashes among rural dwellers.

He noted that “some 30 years ago, we slept with our two eyes closed in Nigeria but today, the reverse is the case.

“We now have all forms of community clashes, armed robbery, kidnapping and other forms of vices.”

The NOA official urged people in the area to embrace positive attitude to make the country a better place for all.

He advised the people to contribute at the forum, as government would use their suggestions to formulate policies that would guarantee safety of lives and property.

He said “if you have any complaint, feel free to report to us here or the nearest NOA office close to you.”

Munir Lawal, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DPO) in charge of the area, explained categories of offences to the people, ranging from civil to criminal offence.

Lawal advised the people not to take laws into their hands on any issue but to report to the police for proper action.

He appealed to the people to help security agencies by reporting suspicious objects, movements and persons to the nearest security agency.

Alhaji Bello Mohammed, the Fulani Leader in the area, attributed herders/farmers clashes to miscreants and not the real herdsmen.

Mohammed called for information sharing among community leaders and Fulani leaders to avert clashes.

Alhaji Mohammed Doma, the village Head of Garatu, commended Federal Government for initiating the forum and promised that it would go down to the grassroots.

Meanwhile, NOA said the sensitisation, tagged “Do the Right Thing, Change Begins with Me’’ carried out in Garatu community in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger would be extended to the remaining 24 local government areas of the state.

Brymo: Here's what singer was trying to tell you in his "Heya" video

Here's what Brymo was trying to tell you in his "Heya" video

Brymo's "Heya" is now popular for the singer's bare behind but he was really trying to tell you a lot more.

Since returning to the fold of independent artistes, Brymo has shown a knack for pushing the boundaries and exhibiting a form of original artistry that is rare in the Nigerian space. But none of all the things he’s done in the past, not even that time he painted himself in black and sat on a stool could have prepared us to see his black African behind in the video for his new single, “Heya.

Except you’re one of Bobrisky’s fans, no-one wants to see another man’s butt.

Brymo’s artistic endeavour has drawn a wide gamut of reactions. There are those who believe this is an attempt at faux brilliance from an artiste who seems so desperate to carve his own niche and distance himself from the rest of the bunch.

Brymo’s fans though believe otherwise. For them, this is another masterclass, a moment of brilliance from an artiste whose ability is yet underrated.

It’s easy in times like this to get embroiled in the hoopla that Brymo must have expected when he put the video together, or to think more about how he’s using his bare buttocks to sell his album.

Between the leather covering over his masculine parts, his emergence from the dark water into a sparse, desert-like field of ruins and the emotive nature of his singing, Brymo’s “Heya” video has little to do with sex appeal and more to do with the idea of being a modern African.

The video is heavy with symbolism, starting with Brymo’s resigned appearance from a stark, dense body of water with a piece of leather that leaves his cheeks at the mercy of the elements.

A tribute to African identity

It is a throwback to an older time when African civilisations manipulated leather and plants into pieces of clothing, a time that Brymo pays respect to more because it was before the intrusion of the white man and colonialism.

Hear the man tell it himself.

ALSO READ: Why singer appeared nude, wore 'G-String', showed his “butt” in his new ‘Heya’ video

In an e-mail to Pulse Nigeria, the alternative folk artiste said, “ I decided to appear how my forbears dressed before the arrival of civilization to Nubian continent,”

We have all seen the costume in many movies, “Heya” was my own representation of that age; A bushman in the city, that’s my image of most black Africans of today. Although we reside in cities, we are still villagers in our thoughts and actions

It reminds you of one of the few African civilisations which have retained its culture through the years.

The San Bushmen are a tribe of hunter-gatherers who live in Southern Africa.

The tribe originally refers to themselves as “San” or “Saan”; the suffix “bushmen” was added by the white men ( which I say at the risk of over-flogging the same “anti-colonialist trope) to qualify the fact that they, despite the urbanisation around them, have preferred to live in the bush, in what has been their habitat for centuries.

Regression, brought on by Ignorance

Brymo addresses this perception, that Africans are backwards because we do not fit into western ideas of what civilisation is.

Moving from that body of water to a stark desert-like clearing refers to the loss of our values and originality that has been induced by the pressure to fit in, to meet certain standards.

ALSO READ: How Western influence broke spirituality and identity in African music

It is, at its most basic form, regression brought on by ignorance. The kind that invites pity, or at the most Nigerian form of it, a shout of “heya”, if only you had known to do better.

The reaction online is mixed, and many BrymO fans think it’s exactly what they wanted to see,” says Brymo. “For those who disagree with the image, I understand that they have forgotten how people dressed across the continent many centuries ago, or they couldn’t fit the costume to the story in the song… but what better way is there to tell the story of our disloyalty and disservice to each other, if not by bearing it all, butt and what not… lol."

No-one could have put it better.

Runtown: Label boss denies threatening to deal with singer with by releasing his sex tape

Runtown

Runtown's label boss denies trying to blackmail the pop star with a sex tape.

Record label boss owner Okwudili Umenyiora has denied being involved in the leak of a sex tape online that allegedly features singer Runtown.

Earlier today, Thursday, March 29, 2018, an Instagram account owned by an individual named Eze Kevin shared a screenshot of an alleged WhatsApp chat between him and Eric Many Entertainment boss.

The chat makes mention of a sex tape featuring Eric Many act Runtown.

The Eze Kevin went on to release a clip of the sex tape on his Instagram account, although Runtown's face couldn't be identified in it.

Eric Many has come to issue a disclaimer over the purported video describing it as 'fake' and 'childish'.

"At first glance, you'll realize that the Instagram page in question obviously belongs to a social media influencer. How else do you explain a page of someone in the entertainment industry with over 11k followers and 7 posts with no known affiliation. The Whatsapp chat that accompanied the story is also fake."

"What we (Eric Many) have done as a respected entertainment company is to put out fact with legal documents and backings, we will not be drawn into a childish charade and drag ourselves in the mud with whoever is behind this fake news. We maintain that we have no sex tape of Runtown and the alleged Whatsapp chat is fake. We have a Federal High Court Injunction, we do not  need to resort to blackmail as we solely rely on the legal system and will update the public as the legal proceedings move,"  the statement read.

We all know how messy the relationship between Runtown and his former label boss Okudili where his former record label Eric Many filed an injunction at a Federal High court against the singer for breach of contract.
